It was beautiful, the location was perfect, the room was clean and had everything we needed, the breakfast was delicious and the added addition of the outside area (especially at night) was so pretty.
The added little touch of a hand written note and two towel displayed as swans with rose petals was just lovely.
You made a lovely, romantic stay even better than we could have wished for.

Great location right in the centre of town so perfect for a theatre break overnight. Comfortable bed in spacious room with good shower and hot water. Right on the main road but seemed reasonably quiet - it would be hot in summer. Rate included basic continental breakfast - which was unclear when we booked. Would have been a bonus if the breakfast had been better served! So, good but not quite as posh as it looks.

Lovely place to spend a weekend, the river and canal basin area are very pretty, loads of really good restaurants, places to stay and things to do. The Shakespeare birthday celebrations/parade is great (mid April). We did the marathon there and that's a great event if you are keen on running.

Stratford upon Avon is great for a short trip and easy to get to from London or anywhere from the Midlands. Particularly nice in spring. There are options for boat hires along the river, or go on a boating trip with someone else steering. Lots of little shops to explore. The big draw is the RSC. So nice to take in a play there with a pre-theatre dinner and explore the town.

Shakespeare's birthplace and museum was great!
Shakespeare's birthplace and museum was great! Staff were brilliant. We loved Stratford's mix of regular high street shops and unique independents. Lots of historic buildings and places to visit. We saw a matinee performance of a show that was at 1.15pm. We had time in the morning to explore, but after the show there wasn't much time for museums and other places of interest before they were closing for the day. Next time, I'll plan for a 2 day visit instead of just 1.

I loved the authentic period feel of the hotel. The walls and floors are sloping and uneven as you’d expect of a Tudor style building-to me it just added to the thrill of staying in Stratford upon Avon! It truly did put a smile on my face to walk the wonky corridors! Completely charming.
I had no problem getting a carpark within the hotel’s own carpark, which other reviews had led me to be problematic, so I was very happy about that.
The location was excellent for sightseeing and also had many great options for restaurants close by.
Guest house was in a very good location a short walk from the areas of Stratford upon Avon that a visitor would want to see.
The premises it self was very clean and comfortable. Facilities were all that you would expect ie large double shower and a king sized bed (requested)
The point that made it exceptionally pleasant was the welcome and friendliness of the host Tamara who provides a breakfast that would be hard to match in a hotel costing twice the price.
We thought overall the guest house met our requirements in all ways.
The location and the room were excellent and most of all, the hosts were warm and delightful. They made us feel at home from the minute we arrived and although we had a climb to the 3rd floor, the room was airy, filled with windows, and warm sunlight beating into the room. They had a nice and small kitchen centre in the floor below, that was a pleasant nook to break for a snack or takeout! Breakfast was delicious as well. I would definitely stay here again, were we to return to Stratford upon avon!
It was an easy walk into Stratford-on-Avon and there was parking available, which were the two things I was looking for when we looked for somewhere to stay.
The cleanliness of our room and its ensuite, the dining room, and the entrance hall was exceptional.
The cooked breakfast was one of the best I have had in any hotel, guest house, or B&B. The ingredients used were clearly high quality and there was not a trace of oil or grease. Our host was friendly, cheerful and helpful.
The Pen & Parchment hotel is a quaint 10 room place attached to a lovely pub where we had a delicious breakfast. We loved it here so much we tried to add an extra night but they couldn't accommodate due to a race happening in a nearby town so make sure to book ahead of time! Located directly across from the river we were able to explore Stratford with ease. The room itself has been fully updated including a lovely bath tub!
Perfect location c 200 metres from Shakespeare's birthplace and within easy walking district of the centre of Stratford. The hotel is a charming 16th century timbered building with lots of character. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. The food was extremely good with a generous breakfast and a good dinner menu choice very well prepared and served.
We are quite frequent visitors to Stratford upon Avon and have stayed at Alveston Manor Hotel a few times. It is our favourite place to stay. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable. Excellent choice at breakfast and all food well cooked and presented.
The Hotel is well located for the region, especially Stratford upon Avon, a short drive away. Plenty of parking space.
The Hotel is very comfortable and the Staff are very friendly and helpful. The Dining is also very good and enjoyable with a good menu choice.
Lovely hotel, great staff and warm welcome. Great evening meal in the restaurant and good breakfast! 👍 Visited Stratford upon Avon for the Christmas market and was pleased with our decision to stay a short drive outside of the town centre as it was so busy.
Easy to find. Lovely and quiet. Sue and John lovely hosts and very helpful. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Only 2 miles from Stratford Upon Avon town centre; an amazing interesting place to visit. Museum, River cruise, good choice of shops, plenty of parking.

Our room was, as always, very clean and comfortable.
Staff were very welcoming.
Lovely looking pub. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely setting in a small village. Close to Stratford upon Avon. Food was nice, but gutted it wasn't homemade food.
We walked into Stratford upon Avon so the location was ideal. There was also a little outside seating area by a brook which was lovely as it was a sunny day.
