Friendly staff, easy check in, lovely room - clean with all we could need. Cafe is delightful and the lunch and breakfast we had was delicious - great portion sizes and reasonably priced.

We have stayed at the City Hotel many times before and it has always been good, this time we were put in room 3 where you have the constant loud humming of some sort of cooling fan outside the window that did not stop, which also vibrated so bad it made the headboard of the bed vibrate which added to the sleepless night and caused a headache, the room was very hot and we could not open the window due to the noise, I am guessing the hotel know that and that is why a fan was provided in the room as we have never had a fan provided before and has never been needed but the fan didn't work, there are only thin vertical blinds on the window and no curtains so the light came streaming in at 4 in the morning, we had been on a road trip to the Outer Hebrides and booked the hotel as a stop off after a 6 hour drive to get some sleep but that didn't happen due to the constant noise, vibration and light, it was such a disappointment after staying at the hotel many times before and having no complaints, it was a total waste of money, we would have got more sleep if we had slept in the car, not sure we will book again in the future and risk getting the same room or one of the rooms near it, which is a shame, they really should not be rented out or people should be warned about the issues which the hotel are obviously aware of and given the choice whether to accept it and pay a lot less than £74 for one night

Not a big city , nice places to eat, fantastic big country park , near to city centre, absolutely wonderful, donated by Andrew Carnegie. Easy rail or bus travel to major cities, fairly reasonable prices, but don’t use ScotRail app, get paper tickets.you can travel on the buses all day for £ 11.50 pp. by purchasing a east of Scotland day rider ticket, good value. Plenty of decent shops and supermarkets close to hotel, lovely big church and abbey ruins close by.

A gem of a city, and a secret that now the people of Edinburgh are cottoning onto. It's got a beautiful Heritage Quarter with loads of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Fantastic old buildings, a huge amount of history and one of the most beautiful parks in the world - Pittencrieff Park - is glorious. It really is like a mini-Edinburgh without the fuss and crowds, and such a lovely place to hang out.

We travelled to visit Knockhill Racing Circuit for a booked experience day.
Arrived on a lovely sunny day so decided to visit Pittencrief park on our way to the hotel (Adamson Hotel in crossford) where we had a great walk around the park and encountered many of the beautiful sights including the squirrels.
All in all a wonderful visit and we will definitely be back at some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future
Great hospitality and close to bus stop and train station. Loved the picnic tables and beautiful flowers and super proprietors and visiting nearby places in Dunfermline. Had a nice Scottish breakfast in the morning and walked to the Queen Margaret train stop and took the train to Waverley Station in Edinburgh City Center. Whew..much better for us than driving in busy Edinburgh City center with no parking in sight especially during festival month. Thank you Auld Mill Inn...
Room was very clean and comfortable, nice selection of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, it was a quick easy arrival at the reception and situated in great area with lots of food establishments and cinema all a short walk from hotel. The hotel is also well situated for easy access to city centre and to main roads to Edinburgh and other areas, would definitely recommend for a quick stopover or as a base for exploring around the area
Inadvertently, I had not reserved an accessible room, so our first night was difficult. When I spoke to the manager about this (Charlie) he and his team were exceptionally helpful, and ensured we were moved to a room which had disabled facilities.
This is the second time we have stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Dunfermline, and both times we have been very happy. We will continue to use the hotel whenever we visit Edinburgh.
Very clean, quiet and comfortable with very friendly, helpful staff, and an excellent location in a quiet, easily accessible part of Dunfermline. My heart sank when I arrived because there was a wedding in progress, but the room was the other side of the hotel and I didn't hear a thing. I would strongly recommend Garvock House and plan to go back with my partner who was unable to come because of sickness.
The location was perfect, close to both the Town centre and my in-laws house in nearby Halbeath. Very central for all amenities but the Hotel itself was nice and quiet, set in spacious grounds, with ample parking to the front and rear. The restaurant served good meals, and with two bars running concurrently there was no problems getting a drink!
The guy.on reception when we arrived at just before midnight was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for him.
Also the waitress at breakfast was new but she also really pleasant.
This hotel has a great team of staff and would love to stay here again.
Dog friendly apartments with everything you would need from toiletries to fresh milk in the fridge. Much better value than a hotel room with much more space and facilities. Perfect for attending the theatre as walking distance from the town
Stayed in room 4, twin beds, totally refurbished by Alan and Brent.
Very comfortable 2 night stay.
This hotel is located in a very private and quiet location close to centre of Dunfermline.
Excellent value for money.
the room was massive and the bedding, towels were top quality. The staff were pleasant, polite and very helpful. would make this our top choice of hotel next time we are in Dunfermline
Perfect for us after finishing a 2 week trip thru Scotland and having an early flight out the next day. With just one night and having seen Edinburgh already, this was a great place.
Great location- quiet, but close to town centre and train station. Free on street car parking was plentiful. Would recommend for anyone who needed a base to stay in Dunfermline
good central hotel with lovely big room. Very comfortable bed. Tea and coffee in room. Nice quiet location handy for most things in Dunfermline. lovely breakfast.
