Killererin House B&B, hotel in Letterkenny

Surrounded by pretty gardens, Killererin House features panoramic views of Donegal and its countryside. It is just 3 minutes' drive from the town of Letterkenny.

The house was well set up for guests both for individual privacy but for the quality of a group. Our host was so welcoming. We were expecting to arrive later in the evening but arrived just before dinner. She made some great recommendations in town, booked a table for us, and arranged for us to cab back and forth. Anyone of these services would be a maybe at most hotels. The bedroom was very nice and the bed was a pleasure to sleep in. Individual bathrooms, well stocked. Full Irish Breakfast and very helpful directions to our next location set a great tone for the day. I would stay here every time i am in the area.

We didn't spend much time in Letterkenny other than for dinner. We ate at the Yellow Pepper which i would highly recommend. It's a robust town that i would have liked to explore and the surrounding area but we were on our way to another area of Donegal. We cabbed to dinner so we were able to have a few glasses of wine with dinner. Cabs were easy to get just outside the bank. Quick ride home with good service. Traffic during rush hour was busy although not as busy as a larger city.

Just used it as a base, plus it was a bank holiday and shops were all closed. So left in the morning and didn’t come back until evening. But it was a busy town traffic wise. 3.30 in the morning and traffic was still driving down the Main Street. Could see it but noise wise we couldn’t hear it.

I want to the hotel for a small one nite break but now think it was too short, 2 or more nites wud be more beneficial, the hotel staff were very helpful, the food in the restaurant was 1st class as cud not fault it, the facilities where brilliant as the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi was a bliss just relaxing and no cares, next time 2 or more days as can be used as a base and travel around, 5/5 for me 👍

Letterkenny is a sprawl and would avoid other than to go to a couple the restaurants. But it’s easily bypassed and there are wonderful scenic drives awaiting. Fanad peninsula - Malin Head for example.

There was a lot more to do in the town than I had initially thought. Good retail shops in the retail park and in the town centre. Cathedral is worth a visit. It is a good centre to stay at for exploring mid to northwest Donegal county. Marble Hill strand, Bloody Foreland and Downings are not too far by car. Camille Thai restaurant was very good value - just on edge of the Retail park past Aldi.

Had a great two days in Letterkenny plenty of shops and a good variety of shops to spend your money. Great places to eat and drink may I say but my only complaint is that you can't get anything to eat before 13.30 on a Sunday .

❗️DO NOT BOOK TO STAY AT THIS PROPERTY❗️ Arrived at the accommodation- door locked and no access from the back. Rang the owner multiple times to which he didn’t answer. We then had to book a hotel costing us a further €200. Another couple arrived and also couldn’t get in or get in contact with the owner. We were left standing on the side of the street with all of our luggage. This man is a fraud and scammer and I will be taking this further In order to get our money back!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

We booked in here as a break from our rainy camping holiday. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean. Swimming pool was lovely and managed really well for covid restrictions. Breakfast was lovely and we ate in the restaurant both nights. Food was delicious. The hotel is located in the middle of a retail park which is great if you like shopping but just a short walk into the Main Street and close to drive to the rest of Donegal. Would definitely stay there again

Extremely comfortable hotel. Room very clean, nice modern decor. Lovely facilities. Reception staff efficient and very pleasant. We ate in the bar, again staff very efficient and pleasant. Good choice of menu, we had bottle of House white with our dinner, very good. We did not avail of the breakfast. Hotel is good location, it is on very busy road, wee bit out of the centre, but not a problem as such. Would certainly recommend a stay at the Clanree hotel.

My room was huge and very comfortable. The hotel is old-school with very friendly staff. I would definitely choose to stay there again. I liked the way the rooms were themed - mine was Gweedore, a place I have always loved, so I had lovely wall art and photos in my room. The bar food was fine, though no low calorie options. The breakfast was very nice, especially the smoked salmon and scrambled egg.

So close to St Eunans and Main Street LetterKenny. It was bustling and busy during the day, but really quiet at night. Slept well. Clean, had all we needed to self cater. We liked watching the Olympics and a bit of Netflix after being out and about all day.
