Links Lodge at The Dunes features a restaurant, bar and shared lounge in Rye. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar. Links Lodge is situated at The Dunes Golf Links, one of Australia's top public golf courses. The lodging is located on the Mornington Peninsula, where several high quality public golf courses are located. I started playing golf at The Dunes in 2007 on my first trip to Australia and have regularly played there on many trips. The stylish rooms offer good space and have modern shower and plumbing fixtures. The nearby clubhouse offers a menu with good breakfast and lunch. Golf tee times can be reserved, unless the stay is booked at times when course is closed to public play, such as when large multiday tournaments are held. I've found it possible on most trips to the area to get tee times at The Dunes. I usually stay at a small cottage nearby but this time it was unavailable part of my stay. I would consider the Links Lodge at The Dunes for another stay on future visits. There are in room safes offer an extra layer of security for those concerned about safeguarding travel documents. The lodging is fairly new and opened in the last few years. It is separated from the main clubhouse by a short distance and each unit has parking which is separate from common parking areas. My room was a two minute walk to the restaurant and clubhouse.

The trams were fanastic, free within the city. Victoria market had a good selection of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. Really enjoyed the goal and the Melbourne star. The gondola at Arthurs Saddle was overpriced.
Great city and hospitality. Transportation is easy. I like the Queen Victoria Market very much. Love the fresh seafood and fruits.
Melbourne is a cozy city. We found many places of destination. City walk tour to enjoy the city like a local. Laying on the grass of Carlton garden, pick some fish n chips with a cup of coffee, sight seeing some souveniers at Queen Victoria Market. Go by bus to city if you’re travelling alone from Tullamarine airport, or take a taxi if you’re travelling 4 persons or more.
Melbourne is a big city so the free trams that go around the city are fantastic. Saves a lot of walking. We enjoyed the boat trip on the Yarra and our ride on the Melbourne Star. Our self drive trip along the Great Ocean Road was absolutely beautiful and so was our visit to Philip Island to see the penguin parade. An invigorating climb up the Grand Canyon track at the Grampians was a highlight and we enjoyed our one night stay at Halls Gap where kangaroos were grazing outside our motel room and cockatoos were very tame and friendly. We also enjoyed our trip to Ballarat where we visited Sovereign Hill and went down a gold mine. Fantastic holiday all round. Shame it had to end as there is so much more to explore in Victoria.
Arriving at Melbourne Airport has been easy. People are nice, warm and helpful. Hassle free transferring to CBD. The day to day weather during autumn are unpredictable, so do ensure to check the daily forecast so you’ll not have a problem with your plans. I love the southgate, Fed Square, NGV, Docklands, the free trams and transporation system is so easy, though getting packed at times especially during rush hour, I love exploring the gardens & free parks. Going suburbs will give you a brighter side of Melbourne & Victoria. I will definitely come back to Melbourne.
Booked a Great Ocean drive tour on a 24 passenger mini-bus and the coach was tight - wish we had booked a seat on a full size coach. Great city for a week long visit. Especially enjoyed Queen Victoria market and the botanical gardens.
Great public transport to all places you might want to visit. Went to visit the Shrine. Of Remembrance, Victoria Market & St Kilda Rd. Easy on the tram. Plenty of food choices in Little. Bourke St. Chinatown area.
Lygon Street is fantastic so many beautiful places to eat! The city is very interesting The Old Melbourne Gaol was fantastic Queen Victoria Markets sensational Riding the trams was fun
Very easy to get around. Loved the great restaurants and bars. Old Melbourne Gail was very interesting. Victoria markets fabulous. Brunswick Street really quirky & interesting. Great Vego restaurant off of Brunswick street called Transformer??
Horsham
The room was very spacious and comfortable . Bed was comfy. The ensuite was also a good size and very clean. The parking bays were all large enough to take a med/large 4WD without being really close to the car parked next to it. Great amenities - nice pool and games room. Property across the road from May Park which has a playground for the kids and walking distance to petrol station and McDonalds and Victoria Hotel (next door). Even though on main road, there was not any road noise. Great place to stay for either families or couples.
Horsham
We had intended driving further but decided to stop overnight , saw this on the web site and thought it would be prefect for o/n stay and it was . Spacious cabin, comfortable bed, plenty of towels and a great heater in the bathroom ( it was a cold night ) Was actually quite as overnight and in the morning which surprised us with the location and access to the highway. Asked about somewhere to have a nice evening meal and The Victoria Hotel was recommended, had a delicious meal:)
Beechworth
We stayed for 3 nights in Beechworth Cedar Cottages. Set in beautiful gardens our 2 bedroom cottage (named Ingram) had been very well maintained and was spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was provided and the facilities generally in the cottage were excellent. I cannot recommend Beechworth Cedar Cottages more highly than to say that we found our cottage to be, without doubt, the best we have stayed in during many trips through the rural areas of Victoria, NSW and South Australia.
Ballarat
The location was great for what I needed. Close to town Centre 6 min drive. Victoria park right at front door. Quiet Neighbour hood. Apartment had car port for car right at front door. Apartment nice and clean and tidy. Everything you need for a short or long stay. Host very nice and quick responses. Nice hot bread and plenty of food for a breakfast supplied. Nice shower, spa and bidet toilet. Would stay again if back in Ballarat and available at the time.
Our stay at Brady Apartment Hotel Hardware Lane was excellent. Downstairs is the very enjoyable Brass Monkey with bar/coffee and snacks and a quick nip across the road takes you to the restaurants in Hardware Lane. It is only a few blocks straight up Queen Street to the Queen Victoria Markets and a short stroll in multiple directions to the free tram circuit. The rooms are a good size with a small kitchen, ideal for a few days away.
Halls Gap
Cockatoo Cabin is a rustic timber home which is a great as a base for exploring the Grampians region. It's a small partly renovated cabin with a modern bathroom. The cockatoos arrived on the verandah within 2 minutes of parking our car there! And they're very friendly. Plus we found a kangaroo in the front garden when returning one evening. This is the best area in Victoria for seeing Australian wildlife roaming free.
Sorrento
The room was amazingly spacious and clean with all the essentials we needed for an overnight stay. Kettle toaster microwave crockery and cutlery. Spacious bathroom and seperate toilet. Room upgrade from booking.com was an advantage. Highly recommend this accomodation. We have been on the road for over a week now staying in various motels in NSW, South Australia and Victoria. This was with no doubt the best
Ballarat
The room was of the standard one would expect of a typical Australian motor inn. The linen was fresh and the beds were neatly made. In terms of location, Victoriana Motor Inn is very well situated. It is about a 5 min drive to Sovereign Hill, on the right side of Ballarat for easy access to Kryal Castle, and there is a supermarket and very nice wood-fired takeaway pizzeria about 4-5 mins walk away.
Bright
Chestnut Tree Holiday units are set in one of the most beautiful surroundings of Bright, Victoria with immaculate gardens and terrific views from the rooms. Our apartment was super clean and well decorated, beds super comfy and the hosts have gone above and beyond making sure all is provided for a comfortable stay. One of the top places we have stayed at in Victoria. Look forward to returning.
Portland
Lorelei B&B is a great place. It will make you travel through time back to the Victorian period, nonetheless with all expected modern comfort. Roger welcomed us in warm way, and we had interesting conversations about the region, and its history. In spite of the bad weather, it was the best place we were over 3 weeks we spent in Australia. Wifi , bathroom spa, breakfirst ++
Melbourne
Convenient location, close to trams, subway and the Queen Victoria Market. I could go to the market and buy some great fresh food. The hotel kindly upgraded our room to one with a park view, which was very nice. We could have fresh air through a small balcony. Very well sound insulated. This property has its parking.
Port Fairy
We stayed at the Victoria Apartments a few years ago so when we decided to visit Port Fairy again it was a no brainer where we would stay. The 2 bedroom apartment suited us (3 adults) perfectly, spacious & well maintained. The location is ideal - walking distance to the shops/eating venues.
The villa at McMillans was excellent. We were unfortunate to arrive when the weather across Victoria was the wettest for many years so did not get to enjoy the villa or Metung. The villa was excellent, really well equipped, in a great spot and all we hoped for when planning our trip to Australia
Marysville
Simply the best accomodation in Victoria. It was our second time there and it was amazing again, every detail is perfect and I sometimes wished I could live in the manor! We also went for a couple massage and enjoyed it a lot. If I come back to Australia, I would make sure to go to the manor!
West Melbourne, Melbourne
Interior and apartment set up is nice, kitchen well eqiupped foe both cooking and eating, laundry machine provision. Supermarket just 50m away. If u like to see and walk around, 15mins by foot to Queen Victoria Market in one side, another side abput 15mins too is Bourke street for shopping
Ballarat
Same owners as the Victoriana Hotel - so the same standard. Rooms clean, but a little dated. Cutlery and eating utensils appreciated. Shower was spacious and full flow (which is always appreciated) WiFi seemed fine where I used it. Easy to park. Pizza guy found my room easy...
West Melbourne, Melbourne
The apartment was in a clean building with great views of docklands. The facilities in the apartment and the basement parking were great. We had a great stay at Spencer St Apartments. Queen Victoria markets being so close (Walking distance) was a real positive.
Great location and beautiful rooms. I was so impressed with the accessibility of the Victoria Hotel especially the bathroom and layout of our room. As a wheelchair user, I felt like my needs were addressed and I was extremely comfortable through my whole stay
We were upgraded to a king suite which was excellent. We have been travelling for 2 weeks throughout NSW, South Australia and Victoria and this was the best shower we had. Having our windscreen cleaned for us overnight was the icing on the cake
Great spa bath, comfy bed, generously sized rooms and lots of fantastic Victorian features across the hotel. The town itself can offer a mix of experiences in terms of the friendliness of locals but the Vue Grand staff were very pleasant.
