Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

We only stayed one full day, and I will say there is a lot to see and do so a couple days is reccomended. The beach was nice, with some great restaurants and options for bars in town. It is an old town, and there are some areas that could use restoration, but it has a certain charm. Everywhere we went the people were freindly.

Fav place: Hotel Celebrity and Citygate Bournemouth which is HIGHLY suggest
Food: Franco Manca, Asda Deli Counter, Spoons, 7 Bone Burger, McDonalds, Caffe Neros
Places to avoid: Bus stop outside Asda and Citygate, there was a punch-up
the breakfast was always freshly cooked to order ,although the choice of hot food was full english or cooked vegan, it was the best cooked breakfast that ive had in a long time. Because of the glorious weather it was really nice to be able to sit in the garden after the long walk to the beach center of Bournemouth. The staff were always chatty and helpful but their knowledge of things local to the hotel was limited. It was nice to sit in the bar area at the end of the evening to have a quiet drink
the hotel is in quite street now far from all the bars resturants and beach,i was with two teenagers so the pool ping pong and swimming pool was brilliant the hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to make it really nice but saying that it was clean and very cheap so cant really moan the the bar area and and resturant was really nice, rooms were a good size and showers were hot all in all would stay there again because it was such good value, the staff were all very good
My Wife, youngest Daughter and I spent a four day holiday in Bournemouth as first time visitors. We booked the hotel on Bookings.com and it was great value for money. The rooms were comfortable, the service was very friendly and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. On top of that the location was brilliant with the beach/seafront and the town centre 5 minute walk in either direction. We will definitely be returning customers.
good distinction from the beach and city centre. breakfast was excellent- full English breakfast buffet, really nice. we would like to say Thank you for the girl on reception. the was so helpful and kind. ( we don’t know her name but we know she is from Brazil). i booked wrong days and notice about it when arrived but she sorted the problem. when I going to Bournemouth I will stay the same hotel again.
Booked for joint birthday celebration and theatre visit so we wanted something near the centre of Bournemouth plus parking, which is very expensive in the town car parks. The room was very warm and comfy, the staff were great and the breakfast was extremely good and plentiful. Easy stroll into town & all that it offers. This hotel was a great little find & I'd definitely book again.
The hotel is a bit dated and the room we were allocated was small plus the bed was not a standard double bed.
Location was good on the top of West Cliff and an easy walk into Bournemouth.
We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel so we cannot comment.
All the hotel staff we met were friendly and willing to assist with any requests.
Good selection of hot and cold food.
Good service - reception, bar, restaurants, rooms.
Location ideal for our needs.
Close to Chines and beach.no
Good walk to Bournemouth and pier.

The hotel had friendly, very helpful staff… the location was absolutely perfect for going into Bournemouth or walking the beach to sandbanks. It was clean and had everything you needed… I can’t believe how good it was for the price!!
I strongly recommend you to stay at this hotel. Stylish, clean, little touches, decoration make it a great relaxing place to stay, I stayed 3rd times in Washington House Hotel, handy for town and so close to Bournemouth Beach
Everything was perfect!

The manager & staff are super helpful here - happily rebooked my nights when work in Bournemouth was cancelled.
The staff were very friendly.
The room was nice with tea and coffee-making facilities.
The hotel location is convenient for Bournemouth City Centre with plenty of parking space.
Charming hotel in a good location for beaches and Bournemouth city centre. Reception staff very friendly and the room was very big with a super comfy bed.
The building is high standard on the outside, the inside outdated. Near the beach in a good area of Bournemouth, near the station. Nice for short period.
