Set in a refurbished 1874 building, Jailhouse Accommodation offers an on-site café and a guest lounge with a cinema projector. It is 10 minutes’ walk from Christchurch Railway Station. I spent here only one night but I loved the jail interior!!! Good location a little bit outside of the city centre but close and there's free parking available!

Clean and extremely convenient location, loved it ! If you need privacy in a hostel, probably not your best choice.

Situated Among the Southern Alps, Haka House Aoraki Mt Cook features views of Mount Cook, and is 200 metres from Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre. An amazing hostel and location! It reminded me of the hostel in Liechtenstein - well cleaned and spacious for each person. Massive kitchen area with proper recycling bins. Absolutely loved the quiet area and access to the sauna was just amazing after the hikes! Great for stargazing too! The rooms had enough space for luggage storage and curtain to avoid disturbance. Haka house provided shower gels, shampoo and conditioner in all their bathrooms which was great!
