Cherry on top was the jigsaw puzzle under construction on the coffee table - was a huge hit with the other guests too!

Set within 2.3 km of Puzzling World, Adventure Wanaka Hostel in Wanaka features a number of amenities including a garden, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. Great people, great staff, comfy beds and in general clean place with nice common areas. One of the best hostels I stayed in so far.

Located in Dunedin, 1.2 km from Taieri Gorge Railway, Work Stay at 123 provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. My stay in Dunedin with Work Stay 123 was great. Very clean, comfortable, fresh, calm, good room (with kitchen, microwave, fridge), warm, study-table, lights... all was excellent.

Boasting barbecue facilities, Adventure Q2 Hostel is situated in Queenstown in the Otago region, 7.1 km from Queenstown Event Centre and 12 km from Lake Wakatipu. The rooms had tons of shelf room even for big bags, curtains and well constructed beds that didn't transfer motion between top and bottom bunks. The kitchen was amazing and complete. The common space had a PS4 to play around with to boot. All the bathrooms had pages from Where's Waldo books on the walls (Where's Wally in the UK.)

Situated in the North Catlins, Surat Bay Lodge offers friendly private and dormitory rooms with free WiFi. We had a 270 degree view of the bay from our corner room! Very friendly helpful owner. Very well equipped shared kitchen. Only a few rooms in the hotel so it was very quaint. Nice sitting area with a sun room. Clean bathrooms.
